Monmouth College to Return to In-Person Classes This Fall

Monmouth College will fully return to in-person classes in the fall.

The College has been offering students both in-person and online classes since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Monmouth’s first day of 2021 fall classes will be Aug. 25. The College will maintain strict public safety measures as students, faculty, staff and guests will continue to adhere to best practices and guidelines. All Monmouth students, faculty and staff will be tested before the start of the 2021-21 school year, and random tests will continue to be administered throughout at least the fall semester.

Earlier this year, the College received a $150,000 grant from the Community Health Foundation of Warren and Henderson Counties to purchase SHIELD Illinois tests, which the College administers to students, faculty and staff as well as to residents of Warren and Henderson counties.

“As more members of the Monmouth community are vaccinated and the number of positive COVID-19 cases and low positivity rates continue on campus and in our region, Monmouth will be prepared to have in-person classes during the fall semester,” said Monmouth President Clarence R. Wyatt. “Of course, the virus is ultimately in charge, so that is why we will continue to observe strict guidelines that will ensure a safe and healthy campus. But in listening to our students, they have made it clear that they want to return to in-person classes.”

Monmouth resumed intercollegiate competition in spring sports earlier this month. The College, as a member of the Midwest Conference, also intends to offer a full season of fall athletics. Monmouth will also offer a limited schedule of classes this summer to help students stay on track toward graduation.
