Sen. Durbin Calls on Congress for Bi-Partisan Support on Immigration Reform

Illinois senior U.S. Senator Dick Durbin is calling on Congress for bi-partisan support on immigration reform as more migrants are coming to the border in Texas.

In a speech on the Senate floor on Wednesday, Durbin, who serves as the Senate Majority Whip, acknowledged the growing number of unaccompanied migrant children in Border Patrol custody and said things need change.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbot said immigration at the border is a “crisis.” On Tuesday, the governor launched Operation Lone Star to limit cartels from smuggling people into the United States.

According to CBS, 32-hundred children are stuck in border patrol custody.
