Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending Feb. 28th, 2021:

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is senior girls basketball player, Ryley Huston. Offensively last week, Ryley averaged 11.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in two games last week, both wins by the Titans. She also had a great defensively. Ryley garnered 3 steal in each contest, as well.

The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is sophomore boys swimmer, Ethan Elswick. Swimming as an independent, Ethan earned his first two wins in his varsity career. He touched the wall first in two events at a meet in Macomb. Ethan was first in the 200 yard freestyle race and then matched that feat in the 500 yard freestyle event.

The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is junior boys bowler, Parker Brownlee. Parker had a fantastic meet against Abingdon-Avon at Abbe Lanes in Abingdon. He rolled a team-leading 3-game series of 482. That score included a game-high of 167. He was even better in an early-season meet, garnering a 3-game total of 509. Parker’s high-game that day was a 188.

The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is junior girls bowler, Chloe Day. Last week, Chloe earned team-high scores in two meets. Against United Township, she bowled a 3-game series of 569, with a single-game high of 209. In the next match against Rock Island, Chloe was even better. She rolled a 3-game series of 599, with a single-game high of 220.

The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Kaden Jones. A record-breaking week for Kaden included a school-record 38 points in a senior night win over South Fulton. The night also included 13 steals for Kaden. He was also in double figures with 23 points in a win over Monmouth-Roseville.Congratulations to all of these student-athletes!!
