Already Short-Handed, Abingdon-Avon Decides to Shut Football Down Due to Plethora of Injuries

Following a mud-filled and rain-soaked 20-14 win over South Fulton on Saturday, the Abingdon-Avon Tornado football team improved to (3-1) on the season. But with each hard-fought win, seemed to come a plethora of injuries. The Tornadoes were already down two, two-way starters before their showdown with the Rebels on on Saturday. Afterwards, A-Town was down a few more. With still two football games remaining in the shortened season, that forced the football staff and administration at Abingdon-Avon to make the tough decision to cancel the entirety of the season. Tornado football coach Rick Quinn gave his version of the events leading up to the decision on the AM 1330/FM 94.1 WRAM Morning Show on Tuesday morning.
