The School District is accepting letter of applications to fill one anticipated vacancy. The individual selected will serve on the School Board from the date of appointment to April 8, 2025.
Applicants for the anticipated vacancy must meet election qualifications. A Board of Education member must be, on the date of election or appointment, a United States citizen, at least 18 years of age, a resident of Illinois and the District for at least one year immediately preceding the election, and a registered voter. Reasons making an individual ineligible for Board membership include holding an incompatible elected office and or certain types of state or federal employment that are in conflict with the school board. Certain felonies, as defined in State law, are reasons for ineligibility. Applicants must be a resident of the Monmouth-Roseville School District.
Applicants should show familiarity with the Board of Education policies regarding general duties and responsibilities of a Board and a Board member, including fiduciary responsibilities, conflict of interest, ethics and gift ban. The Board’s policies are also available on the District website.
A cover letter can be mailed or personally delivered to the district office. The cover letter must include qualification, why you should be considered, and what skills you offer for leadership of our schools. The office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The closing date to accept applications is Wednesday, May 5, 2021. All candidates should address their envelope as follows:
