No New Information Yet on J&J Vaccine Says WCHD Administrator Jenna Link

Anyone aged 16 and up in Illinois is now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Warren County Health Department Administrator Jenna Link reiterates the purpose of the vaccine is to help minimize COVID symptoms:

“The purpose of the vaccine is not to eliminate COVID, just very similar to our flu vaccine. It should help minimize symptoms and reduce the number of hospitalizations, which could result in death.”

As for the halt of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine, Administrator Link informs no further new information has surfaced. The CDC is currently investigating the six cases of women aged 18 to 48 that experienced blood clots out of 7 million doses administered. To schedule a Moderna or Pfizer vaccination with the Warren County Health department, call 309-734-0823.
