Warren County Board Still Undergoing Wind Turbine and Cannabis Talks

Share

The Warren County Board held a special meeting this month to discuss the components of the proposed updates to the zoning code.  Warren County Board Chairman Mike Pearson and Buildings and Grounds Committee Chair Sean Cavanaugh shared with WRAM that the main discrepancies are regarding the Wind Turbines and Cannabis specifics.   Chairmen Pearson reports:

“We have to come to a consensus because whatever the Zoning Board is asked to take to the public can’t change between when they start and when they do the public meetings for public comments and concerns and then we vote. It cannot change in between. We have to have our ducks in a row. After the survey, we know what kind of language we can have, but then a couple of other issues come up so we need to fine tune those.”

Once the Board approves the language in the zoning code, the zoning board of appeals will hold a public hearing and then make a recommendation.  Within 30 days of the efforts,  the County Board will receive the recommendation and the County Board will then vote yes or no.
