West Central Community School District is preparing for an in-person graduation as well as awards night.  Principal Jason Kirby shares information about these upcoming events:

“We will have awards night on May 4th for academic awards, in which we will honor those students that are getting scholarships and the academic awards and achievements that they have had for their four years at the school. I really wanted to take a second to make sure acknowledge the fact Ethan VanScoy and Halee Porter were both named Illinois State Scholars and they will be honored on that awards night on May 4th. Then graduation will be May 16th. We are going to hold graduation outdoors on our football field so that we can have as many people as possible come, stay socially distanced, yet at the same time be able to honor those kids and have people present in order to see them get honored and graduate in what is for a lot of people a big moment in their life.”

Kirby says students are moving in the right direction as their SAT scores have seen continued improvement over the past 3 years.
