Christine “Chris” Ann Cramer, 69 of Canon City, Colorado, and formerly of Abingdon, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021 at her home.

  She was born June 1, 1951 in Galesburg, the daughter of Edward T. and Carol L. (Johnson) Cramer.

  Chris is survived by her brother, Kim (and Jane) Cramer of Abingdon; one niece Rachel (and Bryan) Hecox and their son, Drew Hecox of Abingdon; one nephew, Kerry (and Michelle) Cramer and their children, Ben, Anna and Grace of Highland, Illinois. Also surviving is her dear friend, Lorie Heimer of Canon City, Colorado.

  She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Scott Cramer and one great nephew, Ethan Hecox.

  Chris grew up in Abingdon and graduated from Abingdon High School in 1969 and from Western Illinois University in Macomb in 1974 where she was a member of the Basketball and Golf teams. Chris taught Physical Education in LaSalle-Peru.  Later she worked for Service Masters in West Bend, Wisconsin and at the Four Season’s Motel in Colorado Springs Colorado.  Chris retired from Southland Corporation (7 Eleven) as a Manager working in the Colorado Springs Area.

  She was a member of the Abingdon Christian Church since April 21, 1968. While in Abingdon she served as the summer Supervisor of the Abingdon Ball Park. Her hobbies included cross country skiing, playing golf and soft ball, watching the Denver Broncos and being outside in her yard, with the trees, spinners and plants in Farmville.  She was also a lover of animals, especially her cats CC, Cinders and Jack-Jack.

  Cremation was accorded.  A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at the Berwick Cemetery.  Rev. Will Brown will officiate. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel is assisting her family with local announcements.
