Criminal Justice Program for Youth This Summer at Sandburg

Aspiring super sleuths can take part in a criminal justice summer youth program for students ages 11-14 hosted by Carl Sandburg College’s Corporate & Leisure College.

Led by Sandburg instructor and coordinator of criminal justice programs Chris Barber, Get a Clue takes place July 27-28 at Sandburg’s Main Campus in Galesburg, 2400 Tom L. Wilson Blvd. The camp will run 9-11 a.m. both dates. The registration deadline is July 13.

Participants will learn the process of evidence collection, fingerprinting, sketching, fingerprint dusting, casting and investigative techniques used in criminal investigations through hands-on activities.

Early camp registration cost is $30 and includes a T-shirt. Students may continue to register for $30 after the deadline; however, a T-shirt may not be provided.

Galesburg Police Searching For Missing Man

Galesburg police are searching for a missing man.  Authorities say Octavius McIntosh was last seen Friday at 525 Iowa Court.  The 33-year-old has a condition that places him in danger.
