The Carl Sandburg College Board of Trustees held a special meeting Wednesday to approve the results of the consolidated election earlier this month and to elect new Board officers for 2021-22.
Tom Colclasure and Bruce Lauerman were each elected to six-year terms to the Board in the April 6 consolidated election. Additionally, DeVone Eurales was elected to serve the remainder of the term he was appointed to in July 2019.
Colclasure has served on the Board since first being elected in 1985. Lauerman was elected as a trustee in 1989 and served until 2007. He began a second stint on the Board with his election in 2009. Eurales was appointed as a trustee in 2019 to replace Alfonso Pugh, who had been elected to a six-year term that April. Eurales’ current term will expire in 2025.
The Board also elected new officers for 2021-22. Sandra Wood was elected to serve as chairperson. Lee Johnson was elected as vice chairperson, and Eurales was elected as secretary.
The Board’s next scheduled meeting is 7 p.m. May 27. Due to the coronavirus, a location has yet to be announced.
