Several Local Teams Sprinkled Amongst Latest High School Softball Rankings from the ICA

The latest high school softball rankings from the Illinois Coaches Association are out. Once again, the Lincoln Trail, Three Rivers Athletic and Western Big Six Conferences are well-represented. Illini Bluffs from the Peoria area is ranked number one in Class 1A. The Tigers play in the Inter County Athletic Conference with teams such as the ROWVA/Williamsfield and Brimfield/Elmwood co-ops. Sterling Newman from the Three Rivers Athletic Conference, or commonly known as the TRAC, are ranked 11th. Several local schools are in the Also Receiving Votes list, including the aformentioned ROWVA/Williamsfield, and Ridgewood. Payson-Seymour from the West Central Conference South Division and Lewistown from the Prairieland Conference are also on the list. Another TRAC team is at the top of the Class 2A rankings, (13-0) Rockridge is number one, followed by West Central Conference member Quincy Notre Dame at number 20. TRAC member Riverdale got some votes in Class 2A this week. The Western Big Six Conference dominates the Class 3A rankings, as Sterling checks in at number 5 this week. Fellow Big Sixers in the top-20 include, Rock Island at 8th and Geneseo in 9th. Canton is 7th and East Peoria is 13th. Moline is the fourth Western Big Six Conference member in the rankings this week, as Moline is getting votes in Class 4A.
