The Knox County Unified Command is announcing three (3) new cases of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), between Tuesday, June 15, 2021 and Thursday, June 17, 2021, bringing the total positive cases to 5,703. Due to federal privacy restriction, release of any additional information is prohibited. In every effort to reduce the risk of additional transmission, local public health officials are working to identify and actively monitor individuals who were in direct contact with these individuals.
The new cases include:
- 1 female 20s
- 1 female 40s
- 1 female 80s
According to the Illinois Department of Public Health today, Knox County has administered 43,391 COVID-19 vaccines and 21,293 county residents have been fully vaccinated. This makes up 42.49% of our population fully vaccinated.
The Knox County Health Department is offering a rural walk-in Janssen COVID-19 vaccine clinic at the Williamsfield Fire Department, 200 E Gale St., Williamsfield, on Tuesday, June 22nd from 9:00am-11:00am. This is a one dose Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine available to those 18 years of age and up.
The Knox County Unified Command is hosting a Pfizer and Janssen COVID-19 vaccine clinic at the Unified Command Vaccine Center, 1150 W. Carl Sandburg Dr., Galesburg (former Bergner’s Building) on Tuesday, June 22nd from 4:00 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Health Department will be administering the two dose Pfizer vaccine to those 12 years of age and up and the one dose Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine to those 18 years of age and up at the clinic. Individuals under the age of 18 are required to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. A parental consent must be signed before the vaccine can be administered. Patients will need a second dose between 21 and 42 days after the first dose.
