Galva Man Sentenced 15 Years for Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine

On June 16, 2021, George W. Price, age 58 of Galva, Illinois was sentenced to 15 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after entering a plea of guilty to a Class 1 felony charge for Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine. Upon release, Price will serve a two-year period of Mandatory Supervised Release, formerly known as parole.

Price was arrested on March 11, 2020 following a traffic stop on U.S. Route 34 in Henderson County, Illinois. The traffic stop and arrest were the result of a multi-agency investigation conducted by Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation, West Central Illinois Task Force, Blackhawk Task Force, Quad City Metropolitan Enforcement Group, Monmouth Police Department, Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, and the Burlington, Iowa Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Henderson County State’s Attorney Colby G. Hathaway.
