The Knox County Health Department announces the reestablishment of ALL in-person services at the Health Department and Knox Community Health Center starting Monday, June 14, 2021.
With the steady improvement in metrics the Knox County Health Department and Knox Community Health Center will reopen all but one of their services to the public on Monday, June 14, 2021. The WIC program will continue to serve families but will be done by phone appointments and curbside service. Families can call 309-344-2224 to schedule an appointment. The following services will resume in-person services by appointments:
- Immunizations (Adult or Children)
- Sexually Transmitted Disease Testing
- Environmental Health Services
- Food, Water and Sewage
- Medical Care Services
- Dental Care Services
- Behavioral Health Services
“During the last 18 months, the Knox County Health Department continued to perform essential services virtually and curbside, to eligible families and residents,” states Michele Gabriel, Public Health Administrator/CEO. “We have safety measures in place that will allow us to resume in-person services while protecting the health and safety of our customers and our team members who serve them.”
The Health Department will continue adherence to Center for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines which includes masking. The Knox County Health Department and Knox Community Health Center are medical facilities and will require that masks be worn when inside the building. All individuals who enter the building will be screened.
