Local Kiwanis Club Back Up and Running

Share

The Monmouth Kiwanis Club restarted activities in April of this year, meeting on every second and fourth Tuesday of the month at the Patton Block Brew Pub here in Monmouth and boasting around 20 members. Julie Shaw, President of Monmouth’s Kiwanis Club, comments on their newest projects they are partaking in:

“We have modified our shoes and socks and boots for the school kids. We weren’t able to do the shoes this year, of course, but we did provide Lincoln School a good supply of socks. Joe Pilger said that’s a big need for the kids at the school. In July we are going to share with the VFW with their pancake breakfast. They’ve started their pancake breakfast one time a month, so I think in July we will [participate as well].”

The Monmouth Kiwanis Club is part of a larger global community called Kiwanis International that promotes local service dedicated to helping the community’s children, one child at a time.
