Vaccine Clinics Available This Week in Galesburg

The Knox County Unified Command is announcing five (5) new cases of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), between Friday, June 4, 2021 through Monday, June 7, 2021, bringing the total positive cases to 5,685. Due to federal privacy restriction, release of any additional information is prohibited. In every effort to reduce the risk of additional transmission, local public health officials are working to identify and actively monitor individuals who were in direct contact with these individuals.

The new cases include:

·         1 female 10s

·         1 female 20s

·         1 female 30s

·         1 male 30s

·         1 male 60s

The Knox County Unified Command is hosting multiple vaccine clinics during the month of June. A Moderna and Janssen COVID-19 vaccine clinic will be held the Unified Command Vaccine Center, 1150 W. Carl Sandburg Dr., Galesburg (former Bergner’s Building) on Thursday, June 10th from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The Health Department will be administering the two dose Moderna vaccine to those 18 years of age and up and the one dose Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine to those 18 years of age and up at the clinic. Patients will need a second dose between 28 and 42 days after the first dose.

The Knox County Health Department is offering a rural walk-in Janssen COVID-19 vaccine clinic at the Maquon Fire Department, 405 Main St., Maquon on Thursday, June 10th from 8:30am-10:30am. This is a one dose Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine available to those 18 years of age and up.

A walk-up, bike-up, drive-up Janssen COVID-19 vaccine clinic is also being held at Save A Lot, 900 E. Main St., Galesburg on Thursday, June 10th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Health Department will be administering the one dose Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine to those 18 years of age and up at the clinic.
