Nearly 8,000 New and Probable Cases of COVID-19 Reported in IL Over the Past Week

Share

The State Department of Public Health is reporting nearly eight thousand new and probable cases of COVID-19 over the past week. The most recent seven-day total compares to about 44-hundred cases reported the previous week. Illinois Public Health Director Doctor Ngozi Ezike says the increase once again underscores the need to get vaccinated.

“I think unfortunately sobering statistics and some actual real-life stories of tragedies that were completely preventable will, maybe, make some people reevaluate those earlier choices.”

Illinois counties are now at warning levels for the virus based on new cases, hospitalizations and ER visits for COVID-like symptoms.
