Monmouth’s police force have undergone their annual mandated training. The Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board authorizes every officer to complete annual training, says Police Chief Joe Switzer:

“There’s several categories that the officers have to take training in: civil rights, constitutional and proper use of the law enforcement authority, law updates, use of force, human rights, and procedural justice. Then there’s classes stipulated by the Training Standards Board that you have to take that covers those areas, and you are required to do a certain number of hours annually.”
