Become a Master Gardener and Naturalist with the University of Illinois Extension

The University of Illinois Extension will be hosting Master Gardener and Naturalist training sessions this fall. Horticulture Educator Chris Enroth says the Master Gardener training is to educate any volunteer on extending the knowledge of gardening:

“Our Master Gardeners, they are volunteers in the local community that help to extend the knowledge of gardening to others. At Extension we place ourselves of the fact that we provide research based information. I always tell folks I recommend things; I never tell you what to do. So, if you want an organic product or you want a synthetic product, I will give you information so that you can make the decision and we hope to help you live your best life in gardening, 4-H, and working in the communities. That is what Master Gardeners do.”

Meanwhile, the Master Naturalist program is geared toward conservation. For more information on how to attend these classes, contact the Warren County Extension office at 309-734-5161.
