C. Elmer White 88 of Avon, Il passed away June 30, 2021at St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, Il. He was born July 22, 1932, in Canton, Il the son of Cecil and grace (Hartley) White. He married the love of his life Margaret McCleery June 19, 1954, at her parents’ home. She preceded him in death September 12, 2019.
Elmer is survived by daughter, Linda (Lee) Worthington of Prairie City, Il; son Duane (Crystal) White of Bushnell, Il; grandchildren, Andrew (Erin) Worthington of Avon, Il, Kyle (Hannah) Worthington Okinawa Japan, Ryan (Makayla Trone) Worthington of Swan Creek, Il, Kelsey White and Devon White of Bushnell; great grandchildren Evelyn Worthington, Grant Worthington, and Kennedy Huffstutter. Also surviving are Brothers Creel (Lois) White of Bernadotte, Il, Gary (Sandy) White of Avon, Il. Sister-in-law Darlene White of Marietta, Il, several nieces and nephews. Very close cousins, Norma Nesbit (who he referred to as his sister) and Rochelle (Hartley) White, and great friends Greg and Diane Blythe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two infant children Danny and Janet, Brother Kay White.
Elmer had a passion for Farming and farmed his entire life. He loved gathering with family and friends. He and Margaret enjoyed square dancing for many years. He sold seed for many years. He was a member of the Bushnell Odd Fellows, Bushnell Lions Club, and Bushnell- Prairie City FFA Alumni. He was a member of the Walnut Grove Methodist Church but had last attended Fiatt Community Church.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday July 10, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the Wise Family Funeral Home in Avon, Il. Visitation will be held Friday July 9, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home where family will receive friends. Burial will be in the Bushnell Cemetery, Bushnell, IL.
