Mary Beth Greenstreet, 71, of rural Galesburg, died at 7:20 p.m. Sunday, July 11, 2021 at home surrounded by her family.

Mary Beth was born June 22, 1950 in Galesburg, the daughter of Wayne Leslie and Anna Elizabeth (Oldenburg) Engstrom.  She married Steven W. Greenstreet on September 6, 1980 at the Messiah Lutheran Church, Henderson Grove, IL. He survives as do her two sons, Troy (Marie) Johnson of Galesburg and Shawn (Charlotte) Johnson of Milan; and her three beloved grandchildren, Tori Johnson, Tyler Johnson, and Logan Johnson.  She is also survived by one brother, Roger W. (Liz) Engstrom of Toulon; and one sister, Janice (Michael) Huete of Montclair, VA.  Mary Beth was preceded in death by her parents.

After graduating from Galva High School Mary Beth graduated from Cosmetology School in Moline.  She then worked for CUSD #205, retiring as the lunchroom supervisor at Churchill Junior High School in 2008.  Mary Beth enjoyed the simple things in life, helping around the homestead from the cattle to the acreage and tending to her gardens.  She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Henderson Grove.  The light of Mary Beth’s life was her grandchildren.  She loved spending time with them, going on family vacations, and being present at all their events.  Her presence will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be 10-11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Funeral services will follow at 11:30 a.m.   Pastor Kurt Carlsen will officiate.  Burial will follow at Henderson Grove Cemetery, Henderson Grove, IL.  Memorials may be made to Beacon of Hope Hospice or the Knox County Humane Society.  Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com
