Mon-Rose School Board Weighs Playing Two Sports in Same Season and Wrestling Co-Op

Monmouth-Roseville’s Board of Education discussed the possibility of student-athletes participating in multiple sports during the same season at their recent July board meeting. Superintendent Ed Fletcher weighs the pros and cons of the possible motion.

No motion in either direction has been passed as of yet. The board will meet again in August and continue discussions concering the matter.

Also discussed at the July Monmouth-Roseville board meeting was a possible high school wrestling co-op between Monmouth-Roseville and United High Schools. Several issues stand in the way of approving the action. The co-op would possibly cure the need to fill the 14 weight classes, but could possibly push the co-op up a class to Class 2A. Fletcher mentioned the issues in his monthly spot on the AM 1330 WRAM Morning Show.

Again, the board will continue the discussion at the August board meeting.
