New Interactive Event at Local Warren County Historical Museum About Prairie Life

The Warren County Historical Museum will be hosting a new event next month. Will Best, the Event Planner for the museum, goes into further detail about the event:

“The event is ‘Prairie in Your Palm’; it’s August 7th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. It’s going to feature live demonstrations—you can make corn husks dolls, and also make your own corn meal. We’ll also have food there as well. It features a lot of food from our gardens, but also features some lesser known food that you wouldn’t get the chance to try on a normal basis. It also features two speakers. Monmouth locals Craig Vivian and John Biggs will be doing presentations on local wildlife and the Monarch migration that’s going to be coming through the area later this fall.”

The museum also has a new exhibition currently displaying prairie plant life called “Plants of the Prairie” including corn, sunflowers, pawpaws, persimmon trees, and elder berries.
