An Illinois high school football coach enters his 50th season this fall. Jim Zeleznik is now an assistant at small town LeRoy in central Illinois. He was head coach at the school from 1979 to 2000.
Zeleznik began his career in LeRoy in 1971 as an assistant before becoming head coach in 1979. He returned to assistant duties in 2001 and is now on his son’s staff. His entire 50 year coaching career has been spent at LeRoy.
