Georgia A. Groves of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 3:37 p.m., Saturday, August 7, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family and friends.

She was born on September 7th in Monmouth, IL the daughter of George T. and Clara L. (Barnes) Logsdon, she was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School. 

She enjoyed gambling, shooting the breeze with her friends and family, cruising around and gossiping with friends.

Survivors include her children, Jerry “Dobie” (Kathy) Groves, Leslie Groves and Lisa Kilgore all of Monmouth.  Four grandchildren; “#1” Desia Rhea Pierce and “The Baby”, Lexi Groves, Hezakiah Groves, Caleb Paulsgrove; great-granddaughter, Sidney Kay Pierce; her sister, Opel Martin of Littleton, IL; special nephew, “Frankie My Boy” Buck Logsdon of Monmouth; numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, George A. Groves; 5 brothers, Garney, Sammy, Eddie, John and Butch; 5 sisters, Minnie, Patty, Bonita, Myrtle and Lela. 

A Celebration of life will be held from 1:00-4:00 pm, Saturday, August 14, 2021 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory.  Cremation will take place following the Celebration.  For more information or to leave an online condolence please visit, www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com.
