Michael Aaron Addis, 66, of Galesburg, died at 11:03 a.m. Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at home. He was born December 3, 1954, in Galesburg, the son of William Arthur and Patricia Ann (Welch) Addis.

He is survived by a son, Aaron Jacob (fiancé Kala Spry) Addis, a daughter, Ashley Janel Addis; two grandchildren, Jacob Rowan Addis, and Jace William Addis; former spouse and mother of his children, Karen (Hilman) Frakes; five sisters, Linda (Bill) Sornberger, Nancy (Bob) Fennig, Julie (David) Smith, Jennifer (Lawrence) Briggs, and Lisa (the late Jim) Shafer; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, David Michael.

Michael was a proud employee of Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway. He was hired in 1976 as a Carman and retired in December 2015 as a Signal Foreman. He graduated from Galesburg High School.

Michael enjoyed hunting and fishing, boating, and motorcycling, quality time with family, listening to music, and catching a Bears, Bulls, or Cubs game. He was baptized into the Catholic church and was a Christian.

Cremation will be accorded. Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Compassus Hospice Care of Galesburg or The National Forest Foundation.
