Anticipation is building for the return of the Warren County Prime Beef Festival, and President Dave Underwood is enthusiastic about the level of sponsorship support for this year’s event, which gets underway with the Princess Pageant on Saturday, September 4.
“The businesses in town that stepped up and were willing to help us out … so many merchants,” Underwood said. “We have banks, we have insurance agencies, we have stores. We’ve had just an outpouring of support.”
Underwood said public safety, at a large community event like the Prime Beef Festival, is definitely top of mind for the festival organizers.
“We’ve been working very closely with the health department, so you’ll see plenty of hand-washing and hand-sanitizing stations,” Underwood said. “As far as food vendors, we’re gonna make sure they’re safe-guarded and have everything they need in place.”
One event that fairgoers won’t want to miss this year is the very popular chicken and calf scramble.
“If you’re new to Warren County and you don’t know about the chicken and calf scramble, do yourself a favor: If you have a toddler, and you want to watch him chase a chicken, there’s nothing like it,” Underwood said.
