Bond Set; Counsel Appointed for Pair Charged with July 31st Robbery of Citizens National Bank in Roseville

Kimberly A. Cook, 57 and Brian P. Cook, also 57, of Missouri appeared in Warren County Circuit Court this morning to have bond set. A Public Defender was appointed to represent each.

Bond was set for Ms. Cook in the amount of $150,000, meaning that she will need to post a cash bond of $15,000 cash to be released. Conditions of bond forbid her from leaving the state and require her to turn over any dangerous weapons in her possession. Ms. Cook has shoplifting charges pending in the State of Missouri.

Bond was also set for her husband, Brian P. Cook, in the amount of $250,000, meaning that he will be required to post $25,000 cash to be released. The court imposed identical conditions on Mr. Cook. Mr. Cook has a prior conviction for theft in Madison County and was sentenced to four years in prison for that offense. Both defendants are accused of Armed Robbery, Aggravated Robbery and Theft over $100,000 but less than $500,000. It is also alleged that a dangerous weapon was used in the commission of the Robbery. Ms. Cook is lodged in the Mercer County Jail and Mr. Cook is lodged in the Warren County jail in lieu of bond. Each defendant faces no less than six years in prison and up to thirty years in prison if convicted of Armed Robbery, a Class X felony, an offense for which probation is not available.

Federal authorities are expected to seek indictments against the pair, in addition to the charges filed by the Warren County State’s Attorney’s Office. Investigation into the matter remains ongoing.

Charges are not evidence; they are only accusations. The accused are presumed innocent of all charges until proven guilty in a court of law.
