WCHD Administrator Jenna Link Discusses New COVID-19 Testing Option for Local School Districts

The fourteen day quarantine is still in effect for close COVID-19 contacts. For the schools that are following the full mask mandate, Warren County Health Department Administrator Jenna Link says some things have slightly changed:

“If they have followed the mandate and they are full masking, you now have a three foot window versus a six foot window for that close contact. That has simplified things a little bit for the classroom, but you are still when you’re a close contact, it’s a fourteen day quarantine. The schools also have some options as far as testing. Testing to stay, this gives them some options. Even with athletes, they might be able to do a test to stay type approach. It is really kind of up to the individual districts as to how they want to utilize those tests.”

During the month of September, the Warren County Health Department will be offering vaccine clinics every Wednesday for all three doses from 1:30 to 4 pm by appointment only. To schedule an appointment with the Health Department call 309-734-0823.
