Betty J. Lind

Betty J. Lind, age 83, of Galesburg, Illinois; passed away at 12:10 am
on September 3, 2021 at her granddaughters residence. Betty was born on
June 17, 1938 in Monmouth, Illinois and is the daughter of Howard Mark
and Erma Frances Tatman Hull. She was raised in Monmouth where she
attended local schools and Monmouth High School. Carl E. ‘Gene’ Lind
married Betty Hull on October 14 1990. He passed away on Monday April
22nd 2013.  Betty began work as a waitress at O.T. Johnson in Galesburg,
then was employed at Giant Foods in Galesburg for a time.  She lastly
was employed in Diatary at Seminary Manor Nursing Home in Galesburg,
from which she retired. Betty was an active mother and was involved
locally with 4H. She loved to attend her family’s events and most loved
her family and grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Mike O’Reilly
of Springfield, Illinois and her step daughter, Katherine Nelson of
Alexis, Illinois and her granddaughter Thira Purchase of Galesburg, and
granddaughter Chrystal Eckwood, and grandsons, Michael Nelson and
Heather, and Patrick Lind and Precilla, and here granddaughter Melissa
Nelson.
Her sister, Donna Reyburn of Monmouth is also surviving as well as a
number of her nieces and nephews. She is preceded in her death by her
parents, husband, and brother, Larry Hull.
As were her wishes, cremation rites are being accorded Betty and no
visitation or service is currently planned.   A celebration of her life
will be at a later date. Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth is in charge
