Keith W. Corbin, 83, of Galesburg, IL formerly of Alexis, IL, A proud veteran of the United States Army 101st Airborne Division Screaming Eagles made his final jump at 8:08 pm, Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Trinity Unity Point Medical Center, Rock Island, IL.  He floated gently from this life to the next surrounded by his loving wife and family.

Keith was born December 3, 1937 in rural Alexis, IL, the son of Guy and Madeline (Michel) Corbin.  He was raised and educated in Alexis.

Keith married Carol Frank in North Henderson, IL on January 22, 1955 and she survives.

Keith proudly served with the United States Army from 1956 to 1962.

Keith farmed in the Alexis area for several years and worked as an Operating Engineer Local 649, Peoria from  1968 until he retired from active operating 2001.  He was a lifetime member of Local 649.

He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, North Henderson, IL. 

Keith was an avid history buff, and loved everything outdoors.  He and his wife traveled extensively in their retirement years, and he always spoke of the beauty of nature.  He believed God did his best in Oregon.  He owned and bred draft horses for many years and loved teaching his grandchildren how to handle the horses.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Carol Corbin of Galesburg, IL; his 5 children, Mike (Pam) Corbin of Bandera, TX, Cindy (Don) Musick of Bloomington, Il, Linda Spring of Bishop Hill, IL, Crystal (Ed) McGee of Geneseo, IL and Nancy (Roger Baird) Martindale, of Carthage, IL; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Denis (Sue) Corbin of Clarksville, TN and Ronnie (Lynn) Corbin of Galesburg, IL; 2 sisters, Carole Nicholes of Robinson, IL and Connie (Tom) Howerter of Galesburg, IL; his sister in law, Patricia Corben of Alexis, IL; several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Jay Corben and Gene Corbin; and his infant sister Kaye Corbin.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 12:00-3:00 pm Saturday, October 2, 2021 at the North Henderson Floral Hall, North Henderson, IL. Cremation has been accorded with a private family interment in Alexis Cemetery at a later date.   Memorials may be given to the Zion Lutheran Church, North Henderson, IL and sent to the funeral home.   McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.
