Robert K. “Bobby” Schisler, age 71, of Monmouth, Illinois passed away at 2:00 am on September 3, 2021 at Cottage Hospital in Galesburg, Illinois. He was born on June 14, 1950 in Monmouth where he attended local schools and graduated from Monmouth High School with the class of 1968. He then attended two years at Western Illinois University in Law Enforcement and lastly attended and graduated from Monmouth College with a BA in the Arts. On June 18, 2002 Bob married Olga Vladimirovna in Monmouth, Illinois. Earlier when Bobby was in High School he was employed at Warfield Lumber Yard of Monmouth. He later served on the Monmouth Police Force for a time. After that, Bob was a technician at the Galesburg Mental Health Center in Galesburg.  While he attended Monmouth College Bobby was employed with the Maintenance Department (Green Army) at the College. With his BA in the Arts he was qualified for his final job as a Leisure Activity Specialist at the Henry Hill Correctional Center and retired on April 1, 2010. Bobby served for many years as an Alderman for the City of Monmouth, and also was a member of the Warren County Democratic Party and served as it’s chairman for several terms. He was active in sport programs locally including coaching and umpiring baseball. Years later many of his players were still greeting him as “Coach”. Bobby most enjoyed swimming and playing volleyball at the Y in his earlier years. He enjoyed spending time with all the nieces and nephews and their children, especially having spirited debates with Great Nephew Kaleb Wolf. Bob is survived by two sisters, Carol Wolf, Gena (John Vellenga) Mettler and his brother Tim (Angie) Schisler, all of Monmouth. He has five nephews surviving, Jason Wolf, Aron Wolf, Chris Perdue, Josh Mettler, and James Mettler, and one niece, Megan Endress. There are five great nieces and five great nephews. Also surviving is his step daughter Anastasia Khilimova and her mother, Olga Schisler. Preceding Bob in death are his parents, and sister, Jane Perdue, and his infant brother, Bradley Ray Schisler. 

As were his wishes no funeral service or visitation is currently being planned by his family. Cremation rites are to be accorded. Interment of his ashes is planned at a later date. Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth is in charge of his care locally. Memorial funds are being established for either Western Illinois Animal Rescue or The Guardian Angels in Galesburg, Illinois.
