Walter Brownlee, Jr., 87, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 5:13 a.m., Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA.

He was born January 2, 1934 in Warsaw, IL the son of Walter H. and Esther M. (Roberts) Brownlee. He was raised and educated in Monmouth.

Walter served with the United State Marine Corps during the Korean War from 1951-1954.

Walter lived in Tucson, AZ, Long Beach, CA and most recently Las Vegas, NV for 46 years before returning to Monmouth.

He worked as an Engineer for the Boyd Group in Las Vegas before retiring in 1991.

Survivors include his 5 daughters, Cindy Vanskike of Monmouth, Debra Jackson of Oquawka, IL, Anna of Oklahoma, Patty Cate and Elizabeth (John) Rodriguez both of Las Vegas, NV and his grandchildren.

Cremation has been accorded.  A celebration of Walter’s life will be held at Highpoint Church of Monmouth at a later date. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL is in charge of the arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com.
