Are the Bears Leaving the City of Chicago for a New Home in the Suburbs?

Share

The Chicago Bears have a purchase agreement on a piece of property in Arlington Heights where they could build a new stadium. Governor JB Pritzker, says as a Bears fan he would like to see them stay in the city but doesn’t think any state support would come to keep the Bears at their lake front home.

“I think this is a private business, the Chicago Bears. As I have said before, and I think that the Bears and the City of Chicago need to work out their differences in order for us to end up with the Bears staying in the city.”

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot wants the Bears to “come to the table” about what improvements could be made at Soldier Field to keep them through the end of the team’s stadium lease.
