The Thomas B. Herring Award is presented to an outstanding area citizen who has distinguished himself/herself through service to our community. Thomas B. Herring served Galesburg as its second city manager for 18 years. Many accomplishments in Galesburg can be related to Tom’s dedication to his work and his concern for the people of Galesburg. His leadership with humility, his cooperation with sincerity, and his professionalism with consistency exemplify what this award means. Therefore, it is entirely fitting to recognize a person who also exemplifies this true meaning of service to others — a person who is content to do so without recognition or publicity. The Thomas B. Herring Community Service Award will be presented during the Chamber’s Annual Thanksgiving Luncheon on Monday, November 22. In-person and virtual tickets are available for purchase below. Nomination applications are due Friday, October 29th. |
