United Red Storm Football Looks to Improve Postseason Berth Chances with Week 8 Road Win

Share

The United Red Storm football team posted its third straight victory and took one step closer to its first postseason playoff berth since 2015 last week by defeating ROWVA/Williamsfield 40-22 on senior night at United High School in Monmouth.

After trailing 8-0 midway through the first quarter, the Red Storm reeled off 40 unanswered points. The improved play of junior receiver Abel Wilson is one of the reasons the Red Storm continue put up impressive numbers on the scoreboard late in the season.

The Red Storm return to gridiron action at 7:00 Friday when they travel to Rushille/Industry for a key non-conference matchup. A win by United would all but assure themselves of a Class 1A playoff spot. Rushville/Industry is in a battle with Farmington for the Prairieland Conference title.

Be sure to tune in to AM 1330/FM 94.1 WRAM Friday evening at 6:40 for the pregame show with your Red Storm announcing team of Casey and Ron Grant, who will bring you all the action on the Prairie Communications Sports Network in week 8 of the high school football season.
