Alvie L. Louck, age 78, of Oquawka, Illinois; passed away at 5:35 am on Wednesday November 10, 2021 at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy, Illinois. Alvie was born on February 4, 1943 in Monmouth, Illinois and is the son of Lewis C. and Agnes L. Ditto Louck. He was raised in Oquawka where he attended the Oquawka Grade School and later graduated from G & O High School in Gladstone with the class of 1960. Alvie honorably served his country in the Army and was a tanker stationed in Germany and serving in the Viet Nam War. Upon his return from service Alvie was employed for three years as an inspector at the Iowa Army Amunitions Plant in Middletown, Iowa. He then was a part owner and the manager of Melburg’s Tap on Schuyler Street in Oquawka for ten years and it’s closing. Since then he has been self employed dealing in Antiques, Stained Glass, Steam Engines, and enjoyed refinishing furniture. Alvie insulted many and was fondly known by many as part of Oquawka  He is survived by his brother, James Louck and Sherry of Oquawka, his niece Babbie Porter and J.R.Brown of Oquawka, and his nephews, Bill Louck and Elizabeth Bundy, and Michael Louck all of whom are from Oquawka, Illinois. He is preceded in his death by his parents, Great Nephew James Porter, and many Aunts and Uncles. 

A graveside funeral service for Alvie is planned on Wednesday November 17, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Oquawka Cemetery. A time for paying respects to Alvie and signing the friends registry is planned on Wednesday from 9:00 to 11:00 am at Turnbulls prior to the graveside service. Interment will be in the Oquawka Cemetery and a memorial fund is being established by his family.
