The 4th Annual Christmas on the Square in Downtown Monmouth is back this Friday night from 5 to 8 p.m. with the theme ‘Don’t Let the Grinch Steal Christmas.’ Downtown Monmouth will be transformed into Whoville and the Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Kelli Kinzer highlights activities taking place during the family fun event:
“We will have a life-size snow globe that people can get in and have their picture taken. We have our carriage rides as always. We also will have Fields of Fun; they are bringing their train and will be offering train rides for adults and children alike. Meks on Main is going to be where Santa is located. Also, we are going to have the Whoville Market at Meks on Main, where there will be some handpicked vendors there. Don’t forget to stop into the Chamber. We will have some punch cards that are free to all families, to participate to find the Grinch so that he cannot steal our Christmas. Once those punches are done, bring the card back to the Chamber of Commerce and we are going to draw for a grand prize.”
Kinzer has also selected the local non-profit organization ‘Sleep in Heavenly Peace’ as the Chamber’s charity of choice this holiday season. The organization will be set up at the Christmas on the Square event collecting pillows, twin sheet sets, or cash donations.
