Decorate Safely This Holiday Season

Share

With Thanksgiving in the rearview mirror, it’s time to put up the Christmas decorations. Monmouth Fire Chief Casey Rexroat offers tips to remember to ensure a safe holiday season:

“We just want to make sure that people are being careful when you are hanging the lights and things like that around your house to take a little extra time and make sure that your cords are not running to where they shouldn’t be and your plugins are making a good connection. Make sure your lights are safe to use, that they aren’t old and they don’t have any frayed wires or things like that.”

Also, Chief Rexroat reminds if you plan on putting up a real tree, make sure to check the water daily.
