Martin V. Todd, 84, of Monmouth, Il passed away at 1:06 am, Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at his home.

Martin was born July 30, 1937 in Hurdland, MO   the son of William Mansfield and Pansey Ruth Elizabeth (Williams) Todd.  He was raised and educated in Hurdland, MO and Lomax, IL.  He attended Kirkwood Grade and High School.

Martin served with the United States Army.

Martin married Sharon Milligan.  He later married Linda Barry in Burlington, IA on July 28, 1989 and she passed away on January 4, 2001.

He owned and operated the Todd Shell Service Station in Monmouth for several years.  He later worked at the George Evans Corporation in Moline, IL as a machine operator before retiring after 22 years.  He also worked at the Monmouth Pizza Hut as a janitor for 28 years.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles (Monmouth Eagles Club) District 5 where he served as President and multiple other offices.  He was a life member of the North American Hunting Club and the NRA.  He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.                      

Survivors include his children, Martin W. Todd of Monmouth, IL, Wendy L. (Dick Bigger) Mettler of Gladstone, IL, Randy L. (Kris) Todd of Kennewick, WA, Marcy J. (Tony) Cokel of Monmouth, Il, and Stacy A. (George VanSkike) Kidwell of Millersburg, IL; 14 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; brothers, Virgil Todd and Oscar Todd; his sister, Edna Sherman; and grandson, Calvin Cokel.

A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 pm at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth.  Cremation will take place following the gathering with a private family interment with Military Honors at Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth, IL at a later date. Memorials may be given to the Jamison Center Meals on Wheels Program or the Martin Todd Memorial Fund and sent to the funeral home.  For more information or to leave an online condolence please visit, www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com.
