As colder days are ahead and inevitably snow in the local area, school districts are already planning. For the United School district, Superintendent Jeff Whitsitt says traditional snow days will be utilized at the start in the event of inclement weather:

“Our snow days are going to be snow days out of the gate. We are going to let that be the excitement, the fun of having an unknown day off when it happens, at least to begin with. If we get one of those crazy, tough winters and we have a lot of days that we are going to struggle with, then we will consider it, but we are probably looking at five traditional snow days before we go to any e-learning or remote days.”

Announcements regarding any inclement weather days will be provided via all call and posted on the United School District website and social media pages.
