Warren County Board Approves Purchase of Land for New Jail Location

Share

After looking at several sites around the City of Monmouth, the Warren County Board Land Acquisition Committee has located a piece of land as the possible location of the new Warren County Jail. The Board approved the purchase of the land and the entrance into an option contract with the land owner. Jail Advisory Committee Chairman Chip Algren explains:

In conjunction with the purchase of the land, Algren says the land would then need to be rezoned into a Public Service Zone. The next step is presenting a referendum vote to the citizens of Warren County to say yes or no to a Public Facilities Tax in order to pay for the jail.
