Williamsfield Schools is so proud of their National Winner in FFA Creed Speaking … Sidney Stiers!

Sidney worked with Mr. Rigg and Mr. Binder routinely over the last several months to prepare, fine-tune, and improve her performance.

She also received coaching support from several teachers, relatives, FFA Alumni, many community members, and local leaders.

The Creed-Speaking Leadership Development Event is a public speaking competition for 7th, 8th, and 9th grade members of the FFA. For the competition, FFA members must recite the FFA Creed and answer three impromptu questions related to its meaning as it applies to today’s world and the agriculture industry. To reach the national stage, Sidney first won her local section-level competition, district competition, and then the state of Illinois contest in the spring of this year as a Freshman. She represented Illinois at the national level, competing against 47 other state FFA winners. She advanced through three rounds of national competition before being declared the national winner at the FFA Convention. The FFA Creed outlines the National FFA Organization’s beliefs regarding the industry of agriculture, FFA membership, and the value of citizenship and patriotism.
