3 CSC Chargers Voted to All-Arrowhead Conference Volleyball Team

GALESBURG — The Carl Sandburg College volleyball team had three members named to the 2021 All-Arrowhead Conference team.

Sophomore Carley Reeves-Eakins, sophomore Carmyn Baldwin (Lewistown, Ill./Lewistown) and freshman Lauren Erke (Quincy, Ill./Quincy) were voted to the team by league coaches after helping the Chargers to a 6-2 record and second-place finish in the conference.

Reeves-Eakins, a 6-foot outside hitter, played in all eight conference matches and led the Chargers in kills (80), kills per set (3.08), total attacks (240), points (93) and points per set (3.6). She also tied for the team lead in solo blocks and total blocks, with seven and 11, respectively. Reeves-Eakins also was voted to the All-Region IV and All-Region IV tournament teams this season.

A 5-6 setter, Baldwin led Sandburg with 246 assists and 9.11 assists per set across eight Arrowhead matches. Baldwin, who also was named to this season’s All-Region IV team, tied for third among Chargers with seven aces in conference play, was third in digs with 77 and fourth and digs per set with 2.85.

A 6-foot outside hitter, Erke was one of just three freshmen selected to the all-conference team. She played in all 27 sets over eight conference matches and tied for second among Chargers in kills (63) and kills per set (2.33). Erke also finished third on the team in total attacks (193), points (76.5), points per set (2.8) and tied for third in aces (seven) and solo blocks (six).
