42 new COVID-19 cases and an additional death are being reported for Warren County. Testing remains widely available throughout the region and Warren County Health Department Administrator Jenna Link informs at-home testing kits are reliable, but mainly for those symptomatic:

“It is a Binex rapid test, just like what we use at the health department. They really are better for symptomatic individuals, but we use them a little bit for a screening tool in our schools. The Binex test is very accurate. So, if you are having symptoms and you go and pick up a home test and it comes up positive, that is a pretty reliable test and you should isolate, stay home if you are not feeling well. If you are not improving, then you should seek medical attention.”

Link says 60% of cases are among the unvaccinated. The Warren County Health Department will hold vaccination and booster clinics for those 12 and older on January 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th from 9 am to noon. A Pediatric Pfizer clinic for those 5 to 11 years of age is scheduled for January 19th. Clinics are by appointment only and can be scheduled by calling 309-734-0823.
