Alice Faye Williamson Smith, 77 of Abingdon, passed away suddenly at 8:39 p.m. Saturday, December 25, 2021, in the OSF St. Mary Medical Center Emergency Room in Galesburg.   

  She was born May 26, 1944 in Galesburg, the daughter of Lester Parrish and Gladys Ellen (Landon) George.  She married Virgil Williamson on August 31, 1963 and they later divorced.  She married Delbert Smith on October 22, 2018 at the Colonial Baptist Church in Galesburg.

  Alice is survived by her husband, Delbert; her daughters, Toni (Jon Mallory) Grove of Galesburg, Cindy (Bernard) Snider of Gillette, Wyoming,  Beverly (Terry) Harrison of Galesburg, Angel (Jerry) Wilmouth of Galesburg and Raelene (Robert) Rhineheimer of Nicholasville, Wisconsin; her daughter-in-law, Melanie Williamson of Oquawka; seven granddaughters, Teri, September, Ashley, Genna, Cassie, Sara and Bessie; three grandsons, Curtis, BJ and Cody; seventeen great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Oliver, Drake, Keedan, Kayson, Braizlyne, Jude, Kashton, Kaydence, Alauna, Raelina, Emma, Derek, Makaya, Sebastian, Gia and Bernard; her stepsons, Mark Smith of California, Christopher Smith of Galesburg, Matthew Smith of Galesburg, Scott (Kathy) Smith of Beardstown and Andrew (Becca) Smith of Galesburg; her step-grandchildren, Chloe, Betty and Nicole; two brothers, Jack (Veronica) Lund of San Antonio, Texas and Mike (Susan Blake) George of London Mills; and several nieces, nephews and their families.

  She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Richard “Richie” Williamson, an infant grandchild, and two sisters, Barbara DeJaynes and Mary Creighton Holt.

  Alice attended Grade School in Abingdon, Jr. High School in London Mills and graduated from Fairview High School.  She lived most of her life in the London Mills area and in Abingdon since 1993.  She was a homemaker.  She was a member of Colonial Baptist Church in Galesburg.  Her hobbies included crocheting, being on the computer, especially doing Happy Color online, and watching TV.  But mostly, she enjoyed her family and visiting with friends.

  Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 30, 2021 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel.  Rev. Darrell Grimm will officiate. Burial will be in East Midway Cemetery near London Mills.  Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel.  Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, attendees are encouraged to wear a face mask.
