Education Summit Discussing Teacher Shortages to Be Held on WIU Campus

Western Illinois University will host an inaugural education summit for area high school, community college and four-year college educators from 9 a.m.-noon Wednesday, Dec. 8 on the WIU-Macomb campus.

The summit, which is hosted by WIU President Guiyou Huang, will feature a panel discussion focusing on addressing teacher shortages in Illinois, breakout sessions and networking opportunities. The panel discussion will feature Huang, Spoon River College President Curt Oldfield, Regional Superintentend of Schools ROE No. 26 John Meixner, WIU Education Professor James La Prad and West Prairie High School Counselor Jami Minter.
