Indoor Mask Mandates Not Going Away Anytime Soon in Illinois

Share

The Omicron variant hasn’t been detected yet in Illinois, but Governor JB Pritzker says its only a matter of time before it’s here – if it isn’t already.

He says mitigations like indoor mask mandates aren’t going away anytime soon.

“We are not lifting that, especially not now. I have said all along, when I want to lift it is when we start to see hospitalizations really plunge, we have not seen that, it is going up.”

Hospitalizations have increased by more than a thousand statewide since November 4.
