Jeffrey B. Hammer, age 60, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 1:06 P.M. on Saturday, December 25, 2021 at OSF St. Mary’s Medical Center.
He was born on July 18, 1961 in Galesburg, Illinois the son of Alva “Dale” and Alice “Allie” M. (Begner) Hammer. He attended and graduated from Abingdon High School and then received his Associate Degree in Business from Oakton Community College in Des Plaines, Illinois.
Surviving is his mother, Alice Hammer of Galesburg, Illinois and one brother, Mike (Julie Ann) Hammer of Dubuque, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his father.
He worked for Hart Schaffner Marx in Chicago, Illinois fitting uniforms for airline attendants, Farmland in Monmouth, Walmart and then Menards in Galesburg, Illinois. Jeffrey was an accomplished musician, playing almost any instrument and playing in area bands. He was a collector of guitars.
A Graveside service will be held on Monday, January 3, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. at the Princeville Cemetery in Princeville, Illinois.
